Well, I did it! I painted a landscape. It’s of a beach in Killbear, and it’s tiny, and I learnt a lot about what my watercolours are willing to put up with from me while doing it. Ta-dah!

I’ve been mulling over doing a few landscape paintings, and I have this sneaking suspicion that they’re going to look a lot like O’Keefe rip-offs, at least at first. Is that such a bad thing, though?

Anyways, here’s my first colour test for a three-section piece.

On the theme of album design, here’s an acrylic painting I did for a friend’s black metal band.  They’re called Detsorgsekalf, and the album is on its way! ON ITS WAY!

Here is an in-progress photoshop exercise in colour theory and my own face. I can’t understand how artists would recreationally do self-portraits all the time, a couple hours of this and I’m feeling an awkward tension between narcissism and self-deprecation.

That painting I said was drying? Well it’s still drying. Cursing at it didn’t seem to speed up the process in the slightest.

I found photos from long long ago and just fell in love with them.

• Colour or black and white?
• Outlined or patterned or flat shade?
• Biceps, forearms, knees, shins or ankles?
• Both sides or just one?
• How big?
• All at once? One rock at a time? One side at a time?

Answers:

You don’t really want rocks tattooed on your arms. Calm down.
